Tim's next bike

IT is going down

Indietorrents is shutting down for what could be a very long time. I suggest you log on and enjoy while it lasts.

edit: IT took in more that $1800 in donations in the eight hours following it's announcement of closure. It may be back up in less than a few days. Still enjoy it for now.

Van Morrison's Contractual Obligation Record

In order to fulfill his obligation to his early solo label Bang Records,Van Morrison sat down in 1967 or so and cranked out 31 songs on the spot, on topics ranging from ringworm to wanting a danish, to hating his record label and a guy named George. Make sure you get past the first few tunes - it takes him a few to get cooking.
My favorite is Ringworm!

The object is dead

I know, it's a bit over the top. I don't know how you all feel about nine inch nails, but the model being employed for the new album release is the most forward thinking path for musics future. The difference between it and the Radiohead deal is that for only 5.00 (a fair price) you get to choose the audio quality, from mp3320 to lossless FLAC. Radiohead only offered lower quality rips in the hope that people would still feel compelled to go and buy the physical album. hopefully this will catch on and the record industry will implode.

Revision 3 = Nerd Porn

http://revision3.com/

Just thought I'd up this. Revision 3 is an internet only tv station with all sorts of great programming. The bulk of the network seems to be occupied by the former hosts of the G4 (tech tv) network before they started airing shows about cars and swimsuit competitions. I guess I mention this because the shows are great, they are very D.I.Y. and I need more people to watch them so they don't go away and I have to return to watching reruns of Everybody loves Raymond.

of special note:

Pixel Perfect: photoshop tips
Pop Siren: D.I.Y. fun stuff
Systm: technology and potato cannons.

so i'm googleing images of narwhals and thius pops up

pretty great. So I know I'm like grand champion of saying and not doing but I was thinking that if the S.O.T.N. site ever does get done, we should release the albums as rar. files containing high bit-rate mp3s and pdf booklets. This makes packaging (and it's costs) a moot point, and embraces an emerging model of the industry. I kind of like it in spite of my object fetishism because it's closer to the intangible, ethereal nature of music. is anyone else going to have a new project going soon. Mr. Fusion is on hiatus, I have no idea what happened to Hot bomb or anything zach is doing. Nick, want to to this with Ice Queen when it's done? Want to race to see if I finish Grand Maul first? should we just give up and shutter the whole operation? I need input.

the voices

http://garfieldminusgarfield.tumblr.com/

Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolor disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life?
Friends, meet Jon Arbuckle. Let’s laugh and learn with him on a journey deep into the tortured mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against lonliness and methamphetamine addiction in a quiet American suburb.

The Ice Queen

hey kids,
I'm working on an album. The first four tracks are on my blog (though the first three need a little work yet). Also, I'm working on a Mr. Fusion remix...anyone up for a Mr. Fusion remix album?

What I Killed Today

"I work with a lot of injured wildlife. Also not wild animals that are just in a lot of pain. Sometimes I have to euthanize them. I decided to record each animal I euthanize here".

Finally free of iTunes

I have hated iTunes and it's increasingly bloated installer for a while now. Finally Mozilla (firefox, thunderbird) has stepped up and developed Songbird.http://www.songbirdnest.com/
a iTunes replacement that is smaller, simpler, and actually finds you music you like. It's still in development but I'm running the pre-release fine.
